Digital products’ status quo during Japan’s earthquake

Japan’s earthquake brings Japanese disaster, as well as slows down the development of the IT industry in Japan, and even around the world. Digital industry is one of the fundamental industries of Japanese economy. The great brands like Sony, Nikon, Toshiba and Panasonic affect the digital areas significantly.
But almost every aspect of Japanese high-tech areas is influenced by this cruel disaster. On the contrary, some new-born industries become Digital products’ shelter.
Nikon and Canon factories are sporadically located in hit areas like Miyagi and Tochigi prefecture. The destruction of these two companies will lead to a bad effect on panel industry. Another alliance names IPS Alpha is reported shaking by the earthquake obviously. This alliance is united by Hitachi, Panasonic and Toshiba in the early time.

Chip is in shortage, because of the dead time of producing process caused by earthquake. Japan was the important base of producing chips. Even now companies have their own stocks for recent supply; the following sale will be delayed because of the transportation problem.
Raw material of li-ion battery in Japan is relatively in good quality and during this earthquake; majority of their factories is frustrated. The shortage of notebook battery not only influences the market of digital camera and LCD panel, but also affects the sale of iphone4 and ipad2. The newest iphone4 and ipad2 may not be able to sufficiently supply.

Even some Japanese digital companies like Sonya, Panasonic and Sony show their market with LG, Samsung and Chinese companies; their occupancy rate is high before this disaster. They even support their battery to several giants like HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops. The shortage of chips and battery and other accessories may even lead to a crisis.
